After Scottie Scheffler took the lead at the 2024 Memorial Tournament during the second round Friday, he secured a lead he would not lose.

And while he had a 2-over performance Sunday, Scheffler did enough to earn his first handshake from Jack Nicklaus as a Memorial Tournament champion, winning the tournament by one shot at 8-under.

Collin Morikawa finished in second place at the Memorial at 7-under par. Adam Hadwin finished in third at 4-under.

The Memorial is Scheffler’s fifth PGA Tour win of 2024 in eight starts with wins at the RBC Heritage, THE PLAYERS Championship, the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Masters.

Scheffler won his first Memorial in his fourth appearance at Muirfield Village Golf Club. He finished in third in both 2021 and 2023.

Scottie Scheffler wins 2024 Memorial Tournament

After a par on the 18th hole, Scottie Scheffler secured his first Memorial title, hitting a 5-foot putt to secure his fifth PGA Tour win in eight starts.

Collin Morikawa, who recorded a par on 18 with a 5-foot, 2-inch putt, finished second at 7-under, one stroke behind Scheffler. Morikawa narrowly missed a 50-foot chip from the left rough which rolled past the hole.

Scheffler bogeyed 17 after missing an 8 foot, 5-inch putt for par. Collin Morikawa parred 17 and comes to within one stroke of the Memorial lead at 7-under.

Barbara Nicklaus named 2025 Memorial Tournament honoree

Jack Nicklaus announced his wife Barbara Nicklaus would be the 2025 Memorial Tournament honoree. It will be the 50th edition of the tournament.

After a 304-yard drive to the right intermediate, Hadwin hit a 159-yard approach that rolled onto the right green. But Hadwin missed a birdie put from 6 feet and failed to join Collin Morikawa at 8-under, one shot behind Memorial leader Scottie Scheffler at 9-under.

A 174-yard shot over a water hazard on 12 to the right green set up a 32-foot birdie putt for Morikawa. Morikawa has four birdies Sunday and is 2-under. Morikawa sits at 8-under par behind Scheffler at 9-under. Adam Hadwin is in third at 7-under.

Morikawa's birdie on 12 was only the second of the day on that hole.

Scottie Scheffler, Adam Hadwin and Collin Morikawa have not moved on the Memorial leaderboard.
