I'm interested in knowing people's opinions on Bungie bringing back limited time/seasonal ornaments for purchase. I've noticed a very common theme with such actions, to I would guess, dissipate FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out, for those unaware) and other sources that can cause it. Personally, here's my take: I'm not a huge fan. I believe that FOMO in limited amounts (in the realms of things such as cosmetics and items that do not affect gameplay) is a crucial part of live service games and their ability to retain players. While the season pass ornaments are part of the paid tier, after that initial purchase, they are able to be earned without any additional cost. Even if they become available later as a purchase only option, it still takes away from a certain "wow factor" that can be seen by other players. While not an outstanding achievement like a WF Raid, small things like that can be used to encourage new or more casual players to strive for and acquire something to show what they've accomplished. I see it as if everyone can have everything, then no one has anything. It seems to take away individuality in my eyes, and when I see someone who has something I can't get, it helps move me into the mindset of "I want to be like them" and helps me push myself to achieve something similar.
