Championship night is coming up on Saturday at Bowman Gray Stadium as the finale of the 76th season.
There will be four races in all with one in each division. Two of the divisions, the Stadium Stock and Street Stock, aren’t close with A.J. Sanders and Christian Joyce both having big leads.
Burt Myers, who is chasing his 11th Modified title, has a good lead on Brandon Ward heading into the final 150-lap race of the season.
“It’s all about just leading laps and trying to win the race, so nothing will change for us,” Myers said after winning last week.
The most compelling storyline on Saturday will be whether Zack Ore can hold on to beat defending champion Chase Robertson in the Sportsman Division. Ore has just a four-point lead, but with double points night, anything can happen, and it usually does in the Sportsman Division.

It will also be the final night for many of the Hawkins’ family who stayed on this season after selling the lease to NASCAR.
Gray Garrison, who has promoted the series for several years, has been helping Austin Shuford this season, showing Shuford the day to day operations. Garrison said last week he doesn’t know if he’ll be back or not.
“I haven’t heard about next year, so I’ll just leave it at that,” Garrison said.
Other family members who have helped at the racetrack for years will be working their last races. Dale Pinilis has been involved with the racetrack for 51 years and his son, Loren, who handles media relations, will be working for the last time on Saturday night.
