(C-62) Director SERVICE COMMISSION OF UTAHIn the Matter of the Application of BRIDGER VALLEY ELECTRIC ASSOCIATION INC. for authority to pass along the increased costs of electric energy purchased from suppliers. Notice is hereby given that the above entitled matter will be heard before the Public Service Commission of Utah at its hearing room, 330 East 4th South Street, Salt Lake City, Utah, on Friday, the 10th day of June, 1977, commencing at 10:00 a.m. 1. Applicant alleges that in November, 1963, it began purchasing Colorado River Storage Project power and energy from the Bureau of Reclamation and in March, 1975, that contract was transferred to the Intermountain Consumer Power Association under Contract No.

14-06-400-4633. The electric service agreement between Bridger Valley and ICPA provides for the sale of CRSP power and energy to Bridger Valley at the same rates and conditions as would have been in effect under the direct contract with the Bureau. 2. Applicant further alleges that in April, 1976, the Bureau reduced the amount of Storage Proiect energy available from to 58.2% Load Factor which has resulted in increased power costs during the past year. These increased costs have, in turn, resulted in reduced net margins for the year ending December 31, 1976.

3. Applicant alleges additionally that the Bureau of Reclamation has also given notice of 7.5% increase in wholesale power and energy rates to be effective some time prior to June 1, 1977. 4. Applicant proposes a passthrough increase in the amount of approximately $110,000 to keep its rate of return at the same level as it was prior to the increased power costs. The Utah portion of this increase is estimated to be approximately $20,600.

This would mean an average increase of 11.6% to each customer's total billing. By Order of the Commission. Dated at Salt Lake City, Utah, this 31st day of May, 1977. VICTOR N. GIBB, Secretary Attorney of Record: George K.
